The-Best-Frisco-Wedding-PhotographerBack in June we brought you the wonderful story of the couple who were just engaged at The Shops at Legacy while we sat there waiting for a client who had stood us up (booo).  They we so happy with the beautiful images we captured that evening that they asked us to be their wedding photographers.  We were thrilled they wanted us to be there on their special day, and it was indeed a wonderful event.  It came off just how they had planned it, small, simple and soon, minus the small part.  :)

Bob and Glenda were married right here in Frisco, Texas, just down the street from our “studio”.  A very convenient location and venue for us indeed.

As Bob awaited his new bride, his Granddaughter came running down the isle and leapt into her Grandpa Bob’s arms, so darn cute!  Then just before Glenda was about to come down the stairs they played The Merry Widow’s Waltz.  Beautiful, and so moving.

Glenda walked down the isle with her son and during the ceremony Bob lovingly washed her feet--I just loved the biblical symbolism, a very touching sign of his great affection for Glenda.  The whole event was perfect, simply the best.

We couldn’t be happier for Bob and Glenda.  It really is a blessing that they found one another after so much tragedy in their lives.  Congratulations guys, best wishes, and thanks again for having us on your big day!

Photograph The Ones You Love

Wednesday July 14, 2010 - Filed Under: Family | Comments (0)

My Grandfather, William Capehart Brown (Bill) It is with heavy heart and teary eyes that I must report that we have lost my Grandfather, William Capehart Brown.  Grandpa had been battling both kidney and lung cancer valiantly, but lost that battle the morning of July 14th 2010, and has gone on now to a much better place.

I have delayed posting this blog entry and the newsletter as well, due to both an overwhelming workload, and the sadness I knew it would bring to have to say goodbye.

I love my Grandpa more than I can express with words.  I am so proud to have been his Grandson.

From a photographers perspective I was sad that I did not have tons of wonderful portraits of Grandpa to sort through to find the best one for his funeral.  But thankfully I did have this one, taken during Thanksgiving in Whistler, BC.  I love the expression on his face, I think it shows his personality, and how he would just light up when he told us all a story, as he was here.  I will miss those stories...

My Grandpa served in the Army during World War II in the European theater, and he loved this country more than anyone I know.  It is that service, and that love for country that has made me so proud to be an American, and who I am today.  His memorial service was both a sad and beautiful source of pride for me.  He was memorialized with full military honors, and it was delivered with unbelievable precision. The servicemen, and woman who preformed it played Taps from the back of the church and then folded and handed our flag to my Grandmother. I have never felt anything so deeply as I did that moment.  Pride, honor, love, and sorrow all wadded up in my belly and then came out as tears…

I would like to apologize for not keeping up with the blog and the newsletter during this difficult time.  Stacia lost her Grandmother just before the passing of my Grandpa, and it just seems that lately it has been one tragedy after another for us.  It has made me realize how important the short time we have together really is.  It has also reinforced my belief that you must photograph the ones you love.  Take the time while you can.  Life is so brutally short.

My Grandfather is now safe, and free of pain at last.  I will treasure forever my memories of our talks, and regret forever not taking more photographs and not spending more time with him.

I love you Grandpa, and I miss you so much.

Jessica and Kyle’s Wedding

Friday June 25, 2010 - Filed Under: Wedding | Comments (0)

We flew up to Kansas City for yet another destination wedding, this time it was to photograph Jessica and Kyle’s nuptials.  We had a great time with wonderful friends and family!  Jessica’s dress was amazing.  She was an absolutely gorgeous bride and Kyle was looking very sharp in his blues as well.  We had so much fun with everyone, from the ride in the RV with the wedding party to the singing and dancing at the reception, good times were had by all!  We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to capture such a special day for the two of you.

We’ve also updated your custom wedding web site with some of your favorite pictures, go check it out and let us know what you think!

Bob and Glenda were both left with broken hearts after their spouses died from long battles with cancer. Since both shared the same family physician, a "cure" was suggested by Dr. Jones, to mend their hurt and heartache. The doctor wrote Glenda's name and phone number on a prescription pad and told Bob to call her. This resulted in days of hesitation, but after much prayer, Bob decided to follow the doctor's advice and take his "medicine"--- he called Glenda.

After several weeks of phone conversations, they decided to meet for the very first time for Sunday lunch after church.  The doctor's remedy seemed to have a positive effect on both. Five months later on June 11, at the Hope Center where Glenda worked, in the lobby in front of the fireplace under the wagon wheel with a large antler chandelier overhead, on one knee Bob asked Glenda to become his wife.

Later that same evening, while celebrating their engagement by the Legacy Town Center Fountain, they came across two bored photographers, waiting for a client who had stood them up, US!  We took a second to capture their happy moment in pictures. After the unexpected and unplanned timing of a photographer just showing up, they decided the wedding would be small, simple and soon!

Five weeks later, on July 17th, with the blessing of over 200 friends and family members, they are going to celebrate the joining of their families and lives to become one.

Congratulations guys, and what a wonderful story!  We are super excited to be there to photograph your nuptials.  See you soon!

Carrollton Relay For Life

Friday May 14, 2010 - Filed Under: Miscellaneous | Comments (1)

Tyler R. Brown Photography was honored to donate our photographic services this evening for the Carrollton American Cancer Society Relay For Life.  This is typically an outdoor event, but due to the weather, we were forced indoors to the RL Turner High School gymnasium, no matter, we ran the relay and had a great time helping to raise both money and awareness for this great cause.  This cause touches close to home for both Stacia and I who have several family members who have survived, and one currently fighting this dreadful disease.  It was a touching event, and one of the hardest things we have ever photographed.  It’s hard to focus on, well, focus, and composition, lighting and all of the other things that go into a great photograph when you are fighting back the tears.  Celebrating life, and remembering those that are no longer with us was the theme, and celebrate we did, with dancing, and face painting, Guitar Hero, an auction and lots of food!  It was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone who’s life has been altered by cancer.

A special thank you to Team Yes We Can for making the arrangements to have us there.  We were truly honored to help out.

All of the pictures can be viewed from our website Tyler R. Brown Photography, and all proceeds from any print or product purchases will be donated to the American Cancer Society.  Thank you for your support!

The Colony Senior Logan

We met up with Logan at The Shops at Legacy for his senior session on Tuesday.  We love on-location photography, and this is such a great location!  We didn’t have to fight any “traffic” this time either, well except for the shot with the Mustang where we had to pull it into the middle of the road, that was fun, but you have to do what you have to do when it comes to getting THE shot, right!?!?

We had a great time with Logan.  I really like the one with him texting, and of course the “James Dean” one too.

We met up with Sarah and family at The Shops at Legacy in Plano for some senior portraits.  Sarah is a beautiful Plano West High School senior and her family is about to move up to Frisco, right down the street from us in fact.  We had a great time walking around the park, and shooting up in the parking garage as the sunset. We had to maneuver around several other senior photographers and even a wedding photographer during her shoot, but it worked out nicely.  Her senior session was awesome, one of the best, we really enjoyed Sarah, her BFF and her mom was a big help too.  The images are beautiful!  Thanks guys, we had a great time.

Tim and Alyssa tied the knot at The Hall of State in Fair Park and we were honored to be there to photograph their nuptials.  It’s not the first time we’ve been to Fair Park, but it was the first wedding we have shot down there.

Alyssa looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle.  The smile on Tim’s face told that story.  As soon as Alyssa turned the corner, and saw her husband to be, it brought tears to her eyes, so cute!  It was a beautiful evening and simply a joy for a wedding photographer.  They are an amazing couple and so much fun to photograph.  The wedding was flawless and I know that’s due to the hard work and planning of their wedding coordinator, DJ, and the caters

Congratulations Tim and Alyssa, and we are so glad you love your pictures, you are the best!

Introducing one of the most beautiful seniors we have ever had the pleasure of meeting, Molly.  Stacia and I met with Molly and her mom in downtown McKinney and wandered the streets until the sun went down.  We had an amazing time while capturing her senior photographs and we enjoyed perfect weather in the process (no rain!).  She was an absolute dream for a senior photographer to photograph, just gorgeous!

We met up with Cesaley just outside of McKinney at Towne Lake Park, with camera equipment in one hand, and umbrellas in the other.  Stacia kept asking to see my iPhone so she could check the weather radar and sure enough, a storm was headed straight for us!  We stayed back in the forest, to keep as much of the weather off of us as we could, but for the most part it missed us.

Cesaley was great fun and a riot to shoot!  The images turned out awesome!  Have fun at college next year, C!

Stacia and I met up with Martha and Josh this weekend to take a few engagement photographs. We started out at the dog park on White Rock Lake of all places.  My bad, I just saw a parking lot from space on Google Maps and thought, that’ll work!  I had no idea how much barking and yipping there would be.   Turns out it’s an excellent place to shoot, and you can borrow cute dogs too, if you are so inclined.

Fun was had by all, and we were really lucky with the weather being perfect, and what a gorgeous sunset!  We tootled around the lake a bit and found a great little dock to watch the sun hide behind the earth yet another time… was, well… perfect!

Can’t wait for the wedding guys, it’s going to be fun!

Hannah will be graduating from Temple Christian Academy in may 2010, and is about to leave on her mission trip to Africa.  She had just received all of the shots necessary to prepare her for the trip when we met up with her, but you can’t tell that from her perfect smile!  We took half of the shots in the park near The Shops at Legacy in Plano, TX and the other half in old downtown Lewisville, Texas.  My favorite spot that day was a little garage parking lot with a bunch of tires, rusty wheels and car parts laying around.  We had a great time, and except for the wind, it was a perfect day for shooting!

Thanks Hannah for being one of the best seniors we have ever photographed, you were a ton of fun to hang out with!  Good luck on your mission trip, be sure to take lots of pictures!
